Aquifer water testing

We provide user-pays water testing annually. The lab gives us a 15% discount and we only pay the admin fee once, so the cost is lowered somewhat. Samples are collected at Easter time.

Cost for arsenic, lead and iron testing will be $50.

If you're concerned about damage to your septic from the bushfire, we can test for E. coli for an additional $60.

Please get in touch asap so we have enough time to order sample containers.

Successful grant application

We're pleased to announce that our Disaster Ready Fund grant application from NEMA, funded by the Commonwealth Government, was successful.

We applied for $125 000 to support Council to purchase an industrial-scale chipper/shredder. The aim is to reduce the risk of bushfire by supporting strategic green waste clearing without the need for burning.

The DSCA Exec are currently negotiating with Council to finalise plans for mulching at Dolphin Sands.

FAQ vegetation removal

The DSCA committee heard from many community members who found the letter from GSBC planners about bushfire clean-up concerning, especially the apparent failure to consider bushfire safety.

See the attached document for extra information from GSBC planners. See the table on pages 3-4 for a list of reasons for vegetation removal that do not require a permit.
